I have enjoyed doing crafts all my life, and I concentrate on crocheting and sewing. A friend of mine started the Sock Connection In Overlnd Park, KS about twenty years ago. I sewed ribbon on socks that coordinated with hair bows and were shipped all over the United States. We started crocheting beads on socks shortly after and sold to Nordstroms, Marshal Fields, April Cornell and many stores and shops all over the states plus Japan and few other foreign countries. When we stopped that business, I needed something to keep busy so started making scarves and taught myself different crochet stitches for baby blankets, sweater sets and hats. I have done craft shows in the Yardley, PA area for the past 5 years, and welcomed the idea of selling my handmade things at Plumberry. I donate baby blankets to the children's hospital here in Philadelphia, and I have donated many lap robes to the paralyzed vets here as well. My friend and I organized a group of women to crochet and knit afghans for the babies and children in Haiti and are ready to send over several dozen more.
